Pocantico Residency for Cave Canem Fellows
Rockefeller Brothers Fund provides an annual writing residency for two Cave Canem fellows at its Pocantico Hills estate in Tarrytown, New York, where residents write in tranquility in a historic, bucolic setting. The residency culminates in a public reading in the community.
Residents stay in the Marcel Breuer House, commissioned in 1948 as an exhibition building for the Museum of Modern Art. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. subsequently purchased this architecturally influential structure and moved it to Pocantico, where it was used as a private guest house until 2007. Today, Rockefeller Brothers Fund administers and maintains the building for philanthropic and educational purposes.
